The St. Mary and St. Nicholas Church in Sternberg points with the honorary name »Reformation Memory Church«, awarded in 1931, to the extraordinary Diet of 1549, at which the introduction of the Reformation for Mecklenburg was decided near Sternberg, on the Sagsdorf Bridge. A 5.5 x 9 m large, 1895 fresco reminiscent in the tower hall of the former events. The church itself was built at the beginning of the 14th century and belongs to the type of North German "choral" hall church, whose oldest surviving example is the Rostock Nikolaikirche.
