The so-called "Bielplatz", a Slavic sectional wall that was built around 1000, is located north of Georgewitz on the Löbauer Wasser. However, since it is within the district of Bellwitz, it is listed as the Bellwitzer Burgwall. In the vernacular, however, the wall is usually referred to as the "Alte Schanze". Excavations took place here as early as 1904, during which many classified stones were found on the south-east side of the interior. After that, the formerly horseshoe-shaped castle was severely damaged by a quarry. The wall length that has been preserved is only 36 m, the height is almost 5 m, the crest of the wall is 4 to 14 m wide. It is assumed that there was a ford at the castle that led to Jauernick. The task of the castle could therefore have been to guard this path. After the conquest, the hill fort was also used in the early German period. The ramparts were placed under protection in 1935 and again in 1958.

Unfortunately, the tree with the sign has fallen down. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful place high above the Löbauer Wasser.

In a loop of the Löbau water you will find a Slavic rampart - the "Bielplatz" (also "Bielplatz Bellwitz" or "Wallburg Bellwitz").
The complex dates from around the year 1000 and was formerly horseshoe-shaped. Parts of the wall fell victim to the local quarry, so that today the wall is only 36 m long.
It is remarkable that the complex was still used as a hill fort in early German times.
