There is a so-called sinkhole right on Franzosenstraße, very close to the cylinder man. When the trees are leafless, the funnel-shaped, circular deep depression with a diameter of about 35 m can be clearly seen. Such a cave-in can occur if loose rock (e.g. salt or gypsum) in the subsoil is loosened and washed away by penetrating water and then overlying top layers collapse.
