While very beautiful the Maynard Mine Trail is a typical desert climb. It goes up into the San Jacinto Mountains. Be aware there are no great places for breaks and no shade or water along the way. Do not hike during hottest parts of the day, and be aware during summer seasons there are not water sources on the trail.
