The white church of Loonbeek is dedicated to Anthony of Padua. The building stands on a hill and dates back to the 15th century.

Small, one-aisled church in Gothic style, roughly dating from the 15th century. Quite deep choir with stucco vaulting from the 18th century, funded by the lords of the castle Van der Vorst (coat of arms). Expansion of the building after the establishment of the parish (1874).

The partly walled rectangular cemetery is indicated on the late 18th century Ferraris map. Only to the east is the cemetery bordered by a row of trees. According to the Atlas of Neighborhood Roads, there is only a wall to the north as a separation from the public road. Presumably the eastern border at that time joined a lane leading to the castle.

Today the partly walled and partly hedged cemetery has largely been cleared. To the west of the church, a collection of cross-shaped stelae with engraved funerary texts or marbrite text plates have been preserved. Against the east side of the parish church are several veterans' graves and an undated framed tombstone with metal rings of the Wytts family and the Art Deco grave with stylized roses for the Bosschaerts family (1941). The grave of a fallen soldier from 1940 has also been preserved here.
