The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Michaelis in Oberkleen is a Baroque hall church, completed in 1769. Most of the original furnishings have been preserved, including the pulpit decorated with wooden carvings and 25 parapet paintings by Daniel Hisgen. The west tower, a late Gothic defensive tower from the 15th century, has been preserved. Its pointed spire is flanked by four little houses. The church dominates the townscape and is a Hessian cultural monument.

Fortified church from the late 15th century (built between 1450 and 1500). The fortified church tower is over 30 meters high and has a wall thickness of 1.5 meters. The nave, on the other hand, was not built until the 18th century. Before that, the ground-level room of the tower served as a sacred space.
