TheItsas Aurre orItxas Aurre bridge, popularly known as Calatrava bridge, is a bridge built by the architect and engineerSantiago Calatrava. It is located in theBiscayantown ofOndárroain theBasque Country (Spain).
The Itsas Aurre bridge is built in steel and crosses the estuary that theArtibaiRiver forms at its mouth in theCantabrianSea is 70 meters long and is the road access to the port of the town, one of the most important fishing ports in the Basque Country. It was inaugurated in1994and was the first work of theValencianengineer and architect in the Basque Country.
