The origin of this convent of Carmelite friars surely dates back to a church dating from the end of the 13th century that was located outside the city center of Perelada. It consists of a church and a cloister and currently houses the Museu del Castell (de Peralada).

This museum houses several private collections: the library, with more than 100,000 books, the cloister, which houses the lapidary collection, the glass collection, with more than 2,500 pieces, and the wine museum, with a wide collection of objects related to the local viticulture. Of its church, its roof with a polychrome wooden framework stands out, discovered during a 19th century restoration when clearing a false vault.
