The church of Sant Martí del Far dominates the hill on which the town of Far d'Empordà sits. Documented since the mid-10th century, its current state is the result of a reconstruction carried out in the 13th century, which is why it has late Romanesque and transitional to Gothic elements.
It has a single nave with a rectangular apse, the nave and the apse are covered with a pointed vault. Its cover is very characteristic, with a semicircular arch window at the middle of the façade decorated with saw teeth and plant reliefs. You can see this church from far. It’s definitely worth to pay a visit and enjoy the view at both sides.
