Location: El Far D'Empordà, Alt Emporda, Girona, Catalonia, Spain
The church of Sant Martí del Far dominates the hill on which the town of Far d'Empordà sits. Documented since the mid-10th century, its current state is the result of a reconstruction carried out in the 13th century, which is why it has late Romanesque and transitional to Gothic elements.
It has a single nave with a rectangular apse, the nave and the apse are covered with a pointed vault. Its cover is very characteristic, with a semicircular arch window at the middle of the façade decorated with saw teeth and plant reliefs. On the sides you can see gargoyles shaped like animals.

You can see this church from far. It’s definitely worth to pay a visit and enjoy the view at both sides.
