The Iglesia del Espíritu Santo is located near the former city gate Puerta de Almocábar in the old part of Ronda. The massive and defensive-looking sacred building was built after the city's Reconquista from 1485 to 1505.
From the ground plan, the building resembles a cross, the crypt already shows clear baroque influences. Above the altarpiece inside the building are three coats of arms: two for the then Bishop Bernardo Manrique and one for the House of Habsburg.
