The church of San Giorgio, in the center of Modena, stands on an ancient medieval church, which has been mentioned since 1189. It belongs to the diocese of Modena and the current project is attributed to the ducal court architect Gaspare Vigarani. The main altar in polychrome marble from 1666 is the work of Antonio Loraghi and contains the image of the "Madonna Help of Christians of the Modenese people", the work of Pietro Paolo dell'Abate (1617).

Designed by architect and court designer Gaspare Vigarani in the mid-1600s, the Church of San Giorgio as a high altar, dating back to 1666 and attributed to Antonio Loraghi, which was embellished with an image of the Virgin, added some 30 years later.
