Impressive construction.
The wind turbine with a vertical axis of rotation
(Type Darrieus) also called whisk was built as a prototype.
The size is impressive, the rotor is 15 meters wide and 25 meters high.
It has not been in operation since the year 2000, since it is the only system of this type in Germany, it was left as a demonstration object.
At the plant itself there is an information board where you can read a lot of interesting facts about this wind turbine.
Good starting point for hikes.
You should park at the beautiful Albschoenstatt Chapel, where there is a free parking lot for hikers.
Driving on the dirt road to the facility is not permitted.Dear people big and small, keep the environment clean, take the waste home with you, then the Albrand looks much nicer ✌🏻
