According to Wikipedia, the Alte Eiche, north of Roßbach im Wald, is around 700 years old. It stands in the middle of an otherwise attractive oak forest. The signposted hiking trail, which is also suitable for MTB, leads right past it. There is an information board that explains why there are so many old oak trees here. This is a registered and really impressive natural monument of the district of Lahn-Dill. The "old oak" is often mistaken for the "thick oak", which is only about 200 meters away in Roßbach (on the football field) and is "only" 350 years old.
