Revište Castle is a ruin of a Gothic castle lying in the cadastral area of Žarnovica. It is located on the edge of a forested foothill on the right bank of the Hron River. The castle probably originates from the second half of the 13th century, when it was built together with Shasov Castle on the opposite side of Hrona. Their importance consisted in the protection of the narrow passage that led the trade route to the Minsk Minsk towns. The route can be easily managed even by younger children, it really is not difficult. Revision is just one of those easier to reach castles. Great place for a nice afternoon of families with children.Further information can be found at: hradreviste.sk
