It's a beautiful day, it's driving you out of town. So you swing on your bike, possibly crossing the roller bridge
    (komoot.de/highlight/226474),
or come from the port (komoot.de/highlight/3310351)
and then past the traffic jam (komoot.de/highlight/1528446).
But then you can already see it, this huge bridge that leads the A29 over the Huntetal. In the meantime, the imposing building with its 8 columns is getting on in years and needs to be restored or replaced. But you know, on the way out of the city or back in along the Hunte, the Huntebrücke is the impressive monument from where every excursion begins or ends.
Behind it, the nature reserve Bornhorster Huntewiesen and the Moorhauser Polder spread out. Perhaps you will be drawn to the Weser via Huntebrück and Elsfleth. Or you just take a lap around Oldenburg, in parts or entirely. In any case, the sight of the Huntebrücke remains in your memory as a piece of modern architectural aesthetics.
The view from the bridge is also worthwhile. However, there are a few steps to climb for this.

The Huntebrücke Oldenburg from 1978 on the A29 motorway is to be demolished and replaced by a new building. The start of construction of the new Huntebrücke Oldenburg is planned for the year 2022, completion in 2026.

    Great route, pure nature.
But it can also be quite windy.

The bike path on the Huntedeich is very well paved and can also be used perfectly on a racing bike. In addition, the route leads through a beautiful nature reserve.

Because it is also my favorite route. I often drive all the way to huntebrueck and back to Oldenburg via Mooriem and ipwege. or on the other hand about iprump and neuehuntdorf is just as great.

So often drove the car over this bridge towards the North Sea and enjoyed the view from above - even if it is only a short moment. So I was able to enjoy the landscape all the more from "below" and what should I write - everything is even more beautiful than you could only guess from above.

The cycle path along the Hunte is very interesting. You can drive on the northern side as well as on the southern side. The motorway bridge that spans the Hunte is impressive. Built so high because it was believed that even larger ships would come across the river to Oldenburg.

One of the largest and highest bridges in the area, when you drive over on the highway, you only realize how high it is.

Until the 1970s, Oldenburg enjoyed a dubious reputation as the bottleneck on the way to the northwest. Especially in the summer months, traffic on the bypass road jammed in front of the numerous traffic light-controlled crossings on Cloppenburger Strasse or Hauptstrasse.

When it was released, the Huntebrücke was the second highest road bridge in Lower Saxony. The construction costs amounted to 16 million DM (about eight million euros). The city paid for the footbridge under the cap of the western superstructure. The work on the construction of the Huntebrücke was not a good star. Four serious accidents occurred during the construction phase. In 1977 two construction workers were killed.
