    This trail is immersed in a forest of stone pines and maritime pines that is part of the Vila do Bispo Forest Perimeter. The stone pines were planted around 1960 to recreate the old coastal pine forests in the south coast of the country. The wildlife mainly consists of birds, like the great spotted woodpecker, the jay or the great tit. The ravine was carved by water flowing down into Castelejo beach. One can see dense vegetation on the wet slopes. Near the small lagoon, an important source of fresh water for mammals, frogs and dragonflies can be observed, as well as some Monterey cypresses.
