Brilon has been a recognized Kneipp spa since 2016. The Kneipp figures in the spa gardens bear witness to the redesign of the area to become a therapeutic landscape park. The replica of a life-size Kneipp figure was created by the artist Jürgen Suberg.

KNEIPP FIGURE * HERB GARDEN * KNEIPP SPA RESORT
Since 2000, Brilon has been a recognized Kneipp spa resort. This title is awarded to places where water cures are carried out according to the teachings of Sebastian Kneipp (1821 - 1897). To mark this occasion, the Kneipp Association Brilon e.V. created the herb garden in the spa park in 2003, surrounded by a hornbeam hedge. Around 50 medicinal and aromatic herbs were planted there. Most of the species are labeled with signs in the beds. Pictures on an overview board provide information about them in winter. And in the middle of it all stands the sculpture of Pastor Kneipp.

        KNEIPP'S ACTION
Pastor Kneipp cured his tuberculosis, which was previously considered incurable, by taking short baths in the cold Danube. Spurred on by this successful cure, Kneipp began to study the health-promoting power of water and plants. The Kneipp Association Brilon e.V. offers a wide range of courses and events.
