A look at this phonolite tuff wall is definitely impressive. Here these volcanic deposits are probably up to 150m thick. Basalt is still mined in the pit today; you can watch from a vantage point. In addition, the Steinhauerverein Weibern offers guided tours with a stonemason; you can also watch them at work or try your hand at it.
