Falmouth Harbour is the deepest natural harbour in Western Europe and reputed to be the third largest in the world. In the days of the Brtish Empire, Falmouth was said to be one of the busiest ports. Whilst maritime activity has much declined since its heyday, the docks are still a major contributor to the town's economy and it is the largest port in Cornwall.
