The journey takes about 15 minutes and you have to change to the next platform halfway through. During the journey you have very beautiful views of Lugano and Paradiso.

The funicular is 1,660 meters long and divided into two sections of 830 meters each with different gradients. The first section (Section 1) has a gradient of up to 37%, and the second section (Section 2) has a gradient of up to 61%. The line is not electrified, and the two carriages are connected by a single steel traction cable, 1,800 meters long and 33 millimeters in diameter, which powers the funicular. The line runs every 30 minutes during the day, and each journey takes 12 minutes.
