Octagonal building erected in 1708, as can be read on the inscription above the door. In German: The people of Laar built this chapel in 1708 to the triune God in veneration of Blessed Lucia.

According to tradition, the construction of the chapel goes back to a vow made by the Laar village community towards the end of the 17th century to build a chapel to Saint Lucia if the village was spared from the cattle plague.

Inside there was a wooden sculpture of Saint Lucia from the Maasland region dating from around 1500. This sculpture was replaced by a copy. The original has been in the parish church of St. Bartholomew in Niederkrüchten since 2004.

Originally this chapel stood at a crossroads from which five paths led in all directions. After land consolidation in the 1960s there is only one path that leads past it.

There is so much to discover on this farm. A milking house like the one on the Weser. Milk, eggs, potatoes, sausage, honey.....
Discover it for yourself, it's really worth it!
The boss is super nice and the animals are kept in a species-appropriate manner. .
You just have to go there. You can shop and get a soft ice cream on top of that.
It's also great for children to see where the eggs and milk come from.... .
