Hiking
The Eissee is located at 2,569 meters in the rear Windbachtal on the Seekarkogel (Reichenspitze Group of the Zillertal Alps). Half surrounded by steep rock faces, it lies spectacularly in the high mountain landscape below the Zillerplattenscharte, a transition to the Plauener Hütte. It can be reached both from there (via the Scharte) and as a short detour on the way between the Krimmler Tauern and the Richterhütte (via the Windbachscharte).
