!!!Think about going to Volcán Maderas!!! Nor with guide or alone. It is dangerous! The way is very slippery it have really high steps. A guide can assist you with that. The way is good marked respecting that a guide would not be required. The viewpoint "Mirador para Volcán Concepción", marked in the tour is may a nice goal to reach which an worthable challenge up to there the trail was ok.. At the plateau it is very muddy. It is more wet heading to the northeast flank. I guess the way down to Balgüe (that was my idea) is very wet and difficult. I sank in several times up 20 cm over my ankles. Due that I returned very close to the lake lake but I did not reached. My distance was 300m airline due the clouds I even could not see it. I am experienced hiker and also climber and boulderer. I managed well. But I summarize the way is very difficult and not worth it. Go only if you look for a thrilling jungle adventure. And I highly recommend to take hiking poles with you. If you go without guide a offline GPX navigation (e. g. Komoot) is very helpful to find the start of the marked track.

Kayak $15 for up to 3,5 hours Taxi shared 30 C$ (boat renter organize for 100C$ one way) In the morning is more quite (less motor boats) and have more birds. This tour to pueblos blancos you can easily by yourself. From Granada take bus from bus for Rivas. Between the villages you can easily hop on and off to frequently public buses, They way from Catarina to the lake is beautiful but take care it is slipery. Also the way from Catarina to San Juan del Oriente is realy beautiful. I recommend to walk those parts. Diriá also have nice view point. Catching the bus from Dirimo is a little tricky because it goes a special curve. Last bus from Dirimo to Granada is 4.30 pm. Buses to Masaya you have to check out. But fhey are more frequently then to Granada.

Kayak tour with the guide Ramón +505 8876 9391 in the deep Mangroves of NP Padre Ramos. I recommend this tour. Ramón knows much about the nature. The kayaks are in very good condition and comfortable. Ramón also guide kayak tours including swimming in the night, which are amazing because of bioluminescence plankton. Also good for contacting Ramón is via Rancho Esperanza.

Go especially for the view to Vulcan Momotombo & Managua lake and Cerro & Laguna de Asososca You can do alone the correct way west of the lake is good marked. The way east of the lake does not existist.  Take a bus to La Paz Centro (direction Nagarote / Managua). Approx. 1h, 30 C$. In La Paz Centro you can have breakfast. Because you better leave León early. In La Paz Centro take a Triciclo to Laguna de Asososca Approx. 15 minutes. Ask the driver for the number for return. For me it was 200 C$ Last bus to León is at 4.30 pm. Better confirm and ask.

You can to do the trek easily by yourself. The way is easy to find, And you did it to Kommoot ;-) Take a bus to Malpaisillo leaving at León bus station. It takes approx. 30 minutes, 18 C$. The way back to León is also easy. I took a bus at 3.30 pm. I guess the have later ones. Just ask in the village at starting point. After the trek you can enjoy a beer in the village. Just ask around for the bar if you are interested. Your early breakfast and your lately lunch you can join at León bus station. For guided tour It seems there are no many treks due most visit Cerro Negro. A tour would approx. $50 per pax for at least 2. For just me the offered $90. I do not check other just go.
