The root trail goes in the direction of Leogang and is part of the "Big 5 Challenge". Technically, the trail is not without its problems and in the wet/rain it becomes more difficult and exhausting to make progress!

The Root Trail is part of the Big 5 Bike Challenge - the flagship of the bike region Saalbach-Hinterglemm. It is a natural and extremely (!) Rooty singletrack, which can be used between the mountain station of the Kohlmaisbahn and the Schönleiten hut without significant gradients in easy uphill and downhill in both directions.

Either you love him - or you hate him. The trail is definitely a challenge, because here are not just those little roots that many know from the woods. For beginners, it is therefore a very bumpy affair, probably with one or the other, maybe longer sliding passage. But do not despair! In addition, the trail is sometimes very narrow, especially from the Schönleiten hut coming. Even if the fantastic view enticed - pay attention to the view guide ... ;-)
Root junkies will definitely get their money's worth - and for all the others a good opportunity to file on the driving technique!
