View of the Dijle (where the war past is never far away) and a beautiful avenue of plane trees called ‘Drève des Anglais’ which also reminds us of the battles at the Dijle bridge. You also have a beautiful but somewhat distant view of the Château de Laurensart here. The neo-Rococo building was built by order of the noble family de Spoelbergh, who once owned almost all the land (park, forest and meadow) that you see here, more than 200 ha in total. It is now privately owned by the Count of Liedekerke and is occasionally open to the public. The closer Ferme de Laurensart, a stately square farm, built in the 17th century and subsequently renovated, is better visible but it needs work.
