The landscape is a succession of gently sloping hills populated by holm oaks where the herds of local farmers roam free. In some farms there are wild cattle but they do not present any problem. The color of the dehesa changes in each season of the year according to the rains and the temperature. Autumn is an ideal time, with some luck and observation skills it is possible to see Iberian imperial eagle, Bonelli's, booted eagle and groups of griffon vultures hovering over the carcasses left by the farmers in the places destined for carrion. The path passes through the high hills of Cortijo de Macarra and crosses the Serrejón road. The wooden milestones of the Tajo Nature Trail continue to indicate the itinerary until the intersection of La Herguijuela. The brave reliefs of the Sierra de Gredos close the horizon like an extraordinary sculpture of primitive geological granites on the endless meadows of Campo Arañuelo. In La Herguijuela, the detour to the Ruta Rosa appears to the left, which leads directly to the town of Serrejón. The cork oak forests of La Herguijuela conserve monumental specimens with several centuries of life. One of the most illustrious trees was El Abuelo, a cork oak with five centuries of existence, 15 meters high and 20 meters of crown, unfortunately it died in 2011.
