The Cinque Torri, or German Five Towers, consist of steep rock towers, which once formed a large boulder. The largest tower, the Torre Grande, is 2,361 meters high. The steep cliffs are especially popular with climbers.
During the First World War, the area was occupied by the Italian army. Because of the good view of the surrounding mountain groups, the soldiers set up the command seat of the artillery here.
