A beautiful village on Loch Lomond, Balmaha is the usual starting point for hikes up the superb Conic Hill and also lies on the path of the West Highland Way. There are many amenities in the village, including the Oak Tree Inn, B&B accomodation, a coffee shop and a shop for stocking up on supplies.
The car park fills up quickly on sunny days, so arrive early to avoid disappointment. You can also arrive by boat from Balloch or Luss.

At the base of Ben Lomond and many other walks Balmaha is a beautiful village. The rangers in the visitors centre are very helpful, for West Highland Way walkers I’d recommend popping in for a map with the restricted camping areas on it.
