From Peenemünde, with the white-tailed eagle, to the island. Once a day on the island. Nice day trip worth it. We also had a great view from the lighthouse.

The view is really amazing!
Only a maximum of 50 people are allowed on the island per day. The crossing from Peenemünde cost € 27.50 in May 2019 (including return trip😉).

This 39 meter high lighthouse on the island of Greifswalder Oie has been almost uninterrupted since 1855
in operation.
The impressive three meter high beacon optics from 1914
is one of the largest in Germany
manufactured lens systems.
Combined with a modern
discharge lamp, the light can be seen up to a distance of 26 nautical miles, i.e. almost 50 kilometers away. (Information board of the WSV - Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration)
