A first consecration of a church is one of the first documented mentions of Schladming, the place was in 1299 Filialgemeinde Vikariat (Catholic) of the neighboring parish in Haus. In the 16th century in Schladming, unlike in Haus, there was a schism. An independent Catholic parish was not established in Schladming until 1857.
