    Hiking

The Triton Fountain was built at the beginning of the 20th century in front of Aachen Central Station and later moved to Kaiser-Friedrich-Allee. There it is fed by the Pau, which flows from there further into the Hangeweiher.

Triton is a sea deity from Greek mythology.

The sculptor Carl Burger created the Aachen Triton Fountain between 1906 and 1910. It adorned the elliptical square in front of the newly built Aachen main station. In order not to obstruct the increasing traffic on the Alléenring, it was dismantled and moved to the current location on Kaiser-Friedrich-Allée as early as 1923.

The fountain - named after the Greek god of the sea Triton - was originally built in front of the central station. In 1923 he was transferred to the present location.
