The Dune Trail leads directly from the town center to the maritime highlight, the lighthouse. The hike begins with the fascinating view from the "Georgshöhe" (Georgshöhe). It then continues through the island's diverse natural landscape. Dune landscapes characterize Norderney's protected landscape. A delight for all the senses, as the salty air not only caresses the skin but also the nose. Relaxing and soothing for body, mind, and soul - a hike through the dune landscape is a must for any guest on the island. The historic water tower along the hiking route invites you to take a short tour. The destination of the hike is the Norderney lighthouse. Where lighthouse keepers once guided sailors, visitors can climb the 253 steps during the season from May to October and enjoy breathtaking views of the sea and the island landscape.
