Then the planes land just above your head just before touching down on the runway. However, you have to use the cycle path that runs along the country road for a few kilometers between Petrusheim (north-west corner of the airport) and the normal airport entrance just before Wemb. At the junction with Kuhstrasse in the Hees district, there is a memorial stele of a total of 28 here and across the border to commemorate the crash of an RAF Wellington bomber flown by a Polish crew in World War II.
