The Zittau narrow-gauge railway (affectionately known as the Bimmelboahn) is one of the most famous steam-powered narrow-gauge railways in Germany. It connects the city of Zittau with the spa towns of Oybin and Jonsdorf in the Zittau Mountains.

The track width is 750 mm.

The length of the route is 12.2 km (main line to Oybin), 8.1 km (branch line to Jonsdorf)

The railway is often operated with historic steam locomotives and is a popular tourist attraction. It was opened in 1890 to better develop the region. Despite many narrow-gauge railways being closed in Germany, the Zittau railway has been preserved and is now used by tourists. Many vehicles date back to the early days or have been extensively restored, including steam locomotives of the IV K series. The route runs through the picturesque Zittau Mountains with views of bizarre sandstone cliffs, forests and historic spa towns. The historic station buildings are worth seeing, especially in Oybin and Bertsdorf.
