The Rabia Bridge is a medieval stone bridge from the 12th century and Romanesque style that crosses the Arga River, in the Navarrese town of Zubiri (Zubiri, in Basque, means "the town of the bridge".
Its name, according to tradition, is due to the belief that any animal that passed under the arches of the bridge would be miraculously cured (especially of rabies). In other versions of the tradition, it was enough for the animals to cross the bridge, or to go around its central pillar three times.
The bridge crossing is part of the Camino Frances, and is a mandatory stop for all pilgrims (whether or not they go with their pets).
