A fantastic panorama will accompany you along your trek before and after this peak: it will certainly not be missing in the town of Cogolo Alto.

During the First World War, Cògolo Alto (2150m) was the position immediately behind the first line of Italian resistance on Pasubio: on its southern slope, sheltered from enemy fire, there was a small permanent village of 500 men, with numerous shelters and warehouses in brickwork and caves still clearly visible. The troops were ready to intervene promptly in the event of an Austrian attack on Dente Italiano, the most advanced point of the deployment: they reached Cima Palon along a walkway dug into the rock and covered, and from there they entered the Galleria Papa to reach Dente.

On the summit there are the ruins of a building that does not date back to the Great War, but was built in the 1920s as the home of the custodian of the Sacred Area of Pasubio, responsible for monitoring the area and accompanying tourists to visit the historical testimonies of the mountain.

An evocative place, for its panorama and its history.
