The listed old water mill of Hämelschenburg Castle was built in 1768 and has served as an artist's studio for the painter Bernadeta Klüter since 2000. While the wooden water wheel on the Emmer is still turning, its former function has been replaced by an additional hydroelectric power station that supplies the entire palace complex with environmentally friendly electricity.
