The path from the motorhome parking area to the city center of Saarburg, along the Saar and the adjacent meadows, offers beautiful views of the Saar with the city and the castle.

The route was a complete disappointment. The castle and the city center are of course very beautiful, but I can't imagine how anyone would think of basically guiding the hikers through the "desert" and an industrial area. From Brückenstrasse onwards it was a pure waste of life. Of course, it's also great that a nice picture is taken at 1.15km, but not a single photo of the wasteland is published in the next 7.77km. Especially since (it's not really a point of criticism as it's obvious from the nature of the path) you're walking on asphalt roads, or rather on cycle paths, all the time. If someone had chosen the route like we did because of the beautiful view, the old town combined with a pleasant hike, I can only advise either taking a completely different route or going directly to the old town or the castle and exploring the surrounding area enjoy.
