Also along the Manly beachfront, if walking take the pathway next to the retaining wall instead of the shared walking/cycle path and give cyclists plenty of space.
The former monastery gardens are worth the walk and provide scenic coastal views - a former PM once trained here.

For a great day trip, take a ferry from Circular Quay, near the Sydney Opera House, and cross Sydney Harbour toward Manly Wharf (30 minutes). From the wharf, walk to The Corso, a lively shopping and pedestrian promenade that leads to Manly Beach.
