Etaples, located where the English Channel merges into the North Sea, is a port for coastal fishing (sole, plaice, whiting, shrimp) and sea fishing. Due to the silting up of the Canche, the large trawlers mainly operate from Boulogne-sur-Mer, but the fishermen remain attached to the original port.
