The Electoral Stables is one of the most important baroque buildings in Schwetzingen. The coat of arms of Elector Carl Theodor still adorns the facade of the building today. From 1804 to 1918 the stables were used as barracks for the Baden Dragoons.

Today, Schwetzingen residents are planting small vegetable gardens.

The city pushed ahead with the redesign of the planting areas in the former electoral courtyard. Old dilapidated wooden frames were replaced with metal boxes.
