Ride through Danby Wiske and you are very likely to spot a walker or two. The village lies on Wainright's Coast to Coast walking route and is mid-way between the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors so is an ideal stopping place.

The village pub, the Swan Inn, is used to feeding hungry ramblers so will no doubt be able to provide good sustenance to a cyclist in need.

The River Wiske meanders to the east of the village and camping is available at Church Holme Camping.
