The power plant went into operation in 1981 and is part of the Danube barrage at Dillingen at river kilometer 2538.95. The power plant, which is equipped with two sets of turbines, is designed for a design water volume of around 190 m³/s.
Two Kaplan turbines drive two generators, each with a nominal output of 3.7 megawatts, with a corresponding control energy capacity of the power plant of 45.4 million kWh. The weir of the barrage consists of three fields and the powerhouse on the left. There is a boat lock on the right bank.
