A walk on the Graswarder is beautiful! The houses are jewels and photo motifs...

The nature reserve is very well explained on the NABU information boards and houses.

        NABU Graswarder Nature Center

The Graswarder Nature Reserve is a welcome rest stop for migratory bird species during their thousands of kilometers of journey. Visitors can also observe one of the largest colonies of common gulls in the Baltic Sea region. Around 180 bird species head to the ever-growing spit near Heiligenhafen on the Baltic Sea every year, providing temporary companionship to more than 40 breeding bird species. Here, just eight kilometers from Fehmarn, is one of the largest colonies of common gulls in the Baltic Sea region. The plant diversity on the salt marshes and beach ridges ranges from sea holly and stonecrop to the rare common celery. From Easter to October, nature wardens offer guided tours twice daily on topics such as coastal morphology, birdlife, dunes, and salt vegetation. The tour starts at the NABU Nature Center with its small exhibition. See: nabu.de/natur-und-landschaft/natur-erleben/nabu-zentren/schleswig-holstein/24026.html
