About 10 kilometers from Samaipata, you can reach the ruins of El Fuerte via a mountainous hiking trail. Above the parking lot there is a restaurant and magnificent viewpoints of the Andes. El Fuerte is at 1,950 meters. A visit to the Inca ruins currently costs 50 Bolivianos for foreigners.

El Fuerte de Samaipata is open from 9am to 4:30pm. The entrance fee is still 50 Bob (8/24). The daily menu in the restaurant for 25 Bob was delicious!
