Jöddenbulten. As disrespectful as the nickname of the Jewish cemetery may seem at first, it is by no means intended. The Jewish inhabitants knew their own rituals and had their own place for them. Around 1790 the place was already called Jodenbult. At the time of the division of the market in Mallem in 1845, the Eiberg Israelite community was already listed as the owner of the high north bank of the Berkel just outside Eibergen.

The oldest headstone documented by inventory is that of Samuel Marcus Bachrach (1769-1858) and Dina Wolf (1780-1862).
