Santa Maria delle Grazie is a basilica famous for its Byzantine architecture, with a Greek cross plan and a central dome. Inside, you can admire frescoes and mosaics that date back to the era of the Eastern Roman Empire.

The early Christian Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie stands on the Campo dei Patriarchi near the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia in the old town of Grado. Built around the 5th century, rebuilt in the 6th century, it shows the two stages of construction on the floor mosaics, which are arranged at different heights. Among the many representations are the only fish to be highlighted that have ever been shown in Grado.

In the basilica you can admire the altar, the holy water font and the wooden statue of the Madonna delle Grazie, which is worshiped by the people of Grado.

The basilica is square with three naves divided by two rows of five pillars of marble of various origins; characteristic is the slim vertical form of the central ship.

Very beautiful this Romanesque church still with the flooring of the well-preserved Masaic baptistery
