The "hose tower" or, according to the sign on the tower, the "syringe house", was built in 1912 by members of the BÜCKEN volunteer fire department. After construction began in April 1912, the fire station including the hose tower was inaugurated on September 8, 1912. After completion, the building was handed over to the Bücken district, which still owns the building today. This meant that all of the volunteer fire department's equipment could now be accommodated. The hoses could be washed in the Bücker-Mühlbach stream that ran past the tower at the time and dried in the tower.
Until a new fire station was built in 1959, it served to house the fire department's equipment. The hose tower still serves as a storage room for materials and a transport trailer today.

The fire brigade tower is in Bücken, next to the cathedral. Not in Hoya
