Potato Harbor is located on the North Bluff Trail. It gets its name from the shape of the bay, it perfectly resembles a potato! From the overlook you can see great views of the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island
For anyone interested in geology, you may notice areas near Potato Harbor that contain a very bright white rock. It is known as diatomaceous earth, and comes from ancient sea plants that have fossilized over millions of years.
