Completely preserved late baroque old town. From 1505 it was expanded into a residence by Count Palatine Ottheinrich.
Ottheinrich was lord of the Electoral Palatinate (today part of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palz) and thus one of the electors of the German emperors. Heidelbergerg was also part of his rule.
